Patent and intellectual property translation, English and Italian, in both directions.

A claim is a legal boundary, not a sentence.

In a patent, a single term decides how far protection extends. We translate claims and descriptions the way an examiner will read them: against the family, against the prior art, and against the wording already on file.

How we handle terminology

Fixed before translation, not during.

Most inconsistency in patent translation comes from deciding terms as the text goes. A term chosen in paragraph twelve and reconsidered in paragraph forty leaves two readings of the same feature in the same document. We take the terminology out of the running text and settle it first.

01

Extract

Claim terms are pulled out and listed before the first sentence is translated.

02

Check against the family

Earlier filings and your memory decide the wording where a precedent exists.

03

Confirm with you

Anything genuinely open comes back as a question before it becomes a decision.

04

Hold it

The termbase goes back to you updated, so the next job in the family starts where this one ended.

What the review covers

Claims are read against the source.

Scope errors are the expensive kind and the hardest to spot in a finished text. They are what the review looks for first.

ScopeEvery claim checked against the source
AntecedentsReference numerals and features traced
ConsistencyClaims against description, start to end
NumbersValues, units and ranges verified
TagsFormatting and markup intact
Source errorsReported in a Source Examination Report, not silently translated

Send us a patent job.

Tell us the direction, the stage and the deadline. If you have reference material from the same family, send that too: it is what makes the difference between a correct translation and a consistent one.
